Assistant Professor (Adjunct), Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA, and Head of Orthopedics at Johns Hopkins Aramco Health Care Center (JHAH), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, he also serves as a Consultant Orthopedic and Adult Joint Reconstructive Surgeon. He obtained his MBBCh from King Saud University, Riyadh, in 1993, completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Toronto, Canada (1996–2001), followed by a Fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction and Arthroplasty at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (2004–2006). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.

His clinical and research interests focus on high tibial osteotomy, total hip arthroplasty in patients with sickle cell disease, and the outcomes of primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty in Asian patients. He served as President of the Arthroplasty Chapter of the Saudi Orthopedic Association from 2008 to 2018 and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on total hip and knee arthroplasty. He is also an active member of the Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society (APAS).
