Professor David Barrett is an Internationally recognised Knee Surgeon and Professor of Orthopaedic Bioengineering at the University of Southampton, School of Engineering Science. He has a record of successful design of both partial and total knee solutions which are marketed internationally. His principal interest is that of partial resurfacing of the knee in the young and high demand patient and the development of multi compartmental Knee resurfacing as an orthopaedic procedure. His further research interest includes the patello femoral joint, the design of resurfacing and the monitoring of physiological pressures during dynamic function.
