Professor Dr Azlina Amir Abbas is a consultant arthroplasty surgeon at Universiti Malaya’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She earned her MD from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, and a Master’s in Orthopaedic Surgery from Universiti Malaya. Her fellowship training in adult reconstruction was at Universiti Malaya and Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital, South Korea. She is involved in medical education, curriculum development, and competency-based training in arthroplasty. Her research focuses on clinical outcomes in hip and knee arthroplasty, prosthetic joint infection, and quality improvement, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings.
