Prof. Azhar Merican works at ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital and has 26 years of experience in hip and knee surgery, including complex revision procedures. He graduated from the University of Southampton in 1992, completed orthopaedic training in 1999, and undertook fellowship training in arthroplasty in Sydney and the Gold Coast, Australia. His clinical interests include adult joint reconstruction, orthopaedic trauma, osteotomies, knee arthroscopy, and ligament reconstruction. He completed his doctorate at Imperial College London and has published extensively in leading orthopaedic journals. He is a founding member of the Malaysian Society for Hip and Knee Surgeons (MSHKS) and served as President of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association (2018–2019)
